Boswellia Serrata also known as Indian Frankincense is a tree usually found in dry, hilly areas of India. It belongs to the Bruseraceae family and is also known as Indian Olibanum tree, Luban, Gond, Shallaki and Guggal. Its most important derivative is the gum resin. This yellowish brown in color extract is further purified and used in the modern herbal preparations.
